If you know anything about me and the cold, you know I despise it's entire existence. You know, aside from like air conditioning in August Texas heat and the ice in my drinks. So I drove into the mountains covered in snow.

I started with how much I hate the snow... only so you can imagine how much of a fantastic time I had proving my previous beliefs wrong. I could not have asked for a better time. Of course this is 90% because of my hosts!! Vanessa, Buster, Rebecca and Jim (who I'm sure will probably never read this) were the absolute best. Aside from making me feel incredibly welcome when more than half of them weren't going to be there for my entire stay, I shared many meals and one of the greatest experiences of my trip in Colorado.

Ya. I ice-climbed a frozen waterfall. Who even knew that was a thing?! I never thought I would've been climbing a waterfall, especially with feeling not super confident about my flimsy wrist. But I surprised myself with how much I was capable of physically doing and overcoming my fear of falling (fear of heights isn't really a thing) and the most important, dodging falling ice flying at my face.
Most surprising stop: Colorado for sure.
Pizzas eaten total: 8
Total mileage: 8,757 mi
Average gas mileage: 37.3 mpg
Total hours driven: 172 hours
Stop I wasn't planning on making but turned out well: Charlotte, NC
Next stop: Asheville, NC/Great Smoky Mountains
